As a registered Nutritional Therapist I use the functional medicine model approach (FM) and other tools to help understand what factors over your lifetime may have contributed to your symptoms or becoming unwell.
Using a functional approach will look at the major processes in your body – digestion, absorption, elimination, detoxification, immunity, energy production and communication systems function. Discussions in our initial consultation will help me to understand how your family history, diet and lifestyle over your lifetime might have impacted on these processes.
The nutrition and lifestyle recommendations given will primarily aim to support normal function within these main processes helping to restore potential imbalances identified.
Nutritional therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant if you have a chronic condition, or if you are looking to enhance your health and wellbeing.
Registered Nutritional Therapists never recommend nutritional therapy as a replacement for medical advice and will always recommend referring back to your GP or medical professional should any ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms arise.
Sonia is also a qualified British Sign Language Interpreter and so can also offer these services to the Deaf community using sign language.
